Methodology
Doom Signals is a weekly risk radar and a live monitor. Not a prediction shop, not a survival guide, not proof of any catastrophe thesis.
Live monitors
Gauges on the homepage and monitor page are official feeds, fetched in the browser. Visual meters map the official number; they do not invent one. If a feed fails, the card shows stale. A prior number is not kept. These gauges are not forecasts.
The status strip on the homepage and monitor page is not a Doom Signals score. It takes the highest of three official observed bins already shown on the live monitors: NOAA G-scale from current Kp (G0 Quiet, G1 Watch, G2 or higher Elevated), GOES X-ray class from current flux (A/B/C Quiet, M Watch, X Elevated), and the largest magnitude in the USGS past-day M2.5+ feed (below 6.0 Quiet, 6.0–6.9 Watch, 7.0+ Elevated). A failed or stale feed is omitted and a prior number is not held. If all three fail, the strip reads Status unavailable. Official data, not a forecast.
ECDO is a tracked hypothesis, never proven science. Official geomagnetic and Earth-orientation figures stay in a separate column from the hypothesis.
A signal needs
- a checkable one-sentence claim
- why-it-matters without a forecast
- a named source + URL
- timestamps
- a label: official data / interpretation / hypothesis
A Bible / Endtimes lane exists; pairings of news with scripture are labeled Bible prophecy and are interpretation, not proof, and no date is assigned for the end.
Will not
- fabricate data, quotes, or citations
- scrape behind logins, paywalls, or against terms
- dox private individuals
- give tactical survival instructions
- write panic headlines the body cannot support
- buy engagement or fake subscribers
- speak in the owner’s first person without approved text
- assign a calendar date for a catastrophe
