Yemen West Coast: IOM counts 104,796 displaced since June escalation
IOM’s fourth flash update on the West Coast fighting surge puts cumulative displacement since June at about 104,800 people — with more than 101,000 movements logged in the first half of September alone, mostly inside Ta’iz and Lahj.

IOM’s September 16 flash update #4 puts the West Coast escalation ledger at 104,796 people displaced since June — almost all of that motion packed into 1–15 September (101,208). Three in five of those mid-month movements landed in Ta’iz; another quarter in Lahj. Most stayed inside their governorate; a rising share crossed borders anyway. Why it matters
A hundred thousand people moved in two weeks on the West Coast is not a trickle — it is repeat displacement under fire, with Ta’iz and Lahj absorbing most of the load while migrant routes kink through Marib. The fracture lane meter is IOM’s own cumulative stamp since June.
